Visit Chapel of the Holy Cross

April 2, 2017 Leave a Comment

Nestled into the Red Rocks is Chapel of the Holy Cross, a destination for spiritual journeys. Although it’s a Catholic institution, all are welcome. In the gift shop, you’ll find an impressive array of artisanal keepsakes from rosaries and crosses to ornaments, candles, menorahs, statues and more. Unique items handmade from local Sedona artists make every journey into the gift shop a one-of-a-kind experience.

Every Monday at 5:00 p.m. is the Taize Prayer Service. In accordance with diocesan policies, no liturgies are held at the chapel, and it is not a venue for outside events such as weddings. However, visitors are encouraged to come to the chapel, explore, and enjoy the spiritual and meditative powers many claim to have experienced at this amazing destination.

What to Expect

Chapel of the Holy Cross is part of the St. John Vianney Parish, a Christian community. Most faith-based programs and services are held at the nearby parish church, with the exception of the Taize Prayer. For practicing Catholics, you are also welcome to enjoy mass at the parish church throughout the week.

The gift shop and gallery are the primary attractions at the chapel. You can also shop online for icons, sacraments, inspirational works of art and more treasures. The shops are open seven days per week.
